About Dr Florence Ngu

Specialist Paediatric Surgeon

Dr Florence Ngu grew up in Sydney and obtained her medical degree from the University of New South Wales, graduating with first class honours. She commenced Adult General Surgical training before discovering that her true passions were in Paediatric Surgery. Dr Ngu undertook her Paediatric Surgery training in major paediatric centres across Australia before completion at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. She has undertaken further post-Fellowship training at the Sydney Children's Hospital and the Queensland Children's Hospital in Brisbane.

She is heavily involved in the education and training of the next generation of surgeons. She is an elected member of the ACT Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons which advocates for the provision of high-quality surgical care to residents of the ACT and surrounding NSW regions.

As a Mum of two young children herself, Dr Ngu understands the anxiety that parents and families have when their child needs to undergo surgery. She strives to treat her young patients with the same care she would expect for her own family.
